Nature’s Viagra

What is Butea Superba ?
Butea Superba is an indigenous herb of Thailand, known in Thai language as “Red Kwao Kreu", It belongs to the Family Leguminosae, subfamily Papilionoideae or the bean & pea subfamily. However, the Red Pueraria is derived from the tuberous root of the plant. The plants are commonly found in abundance in the forests in the north, the west and the northeast of Thailand at the altitude of 1000 -2500 feet above sea level. Active principles in this plant are found in the tuberous root, which looks like a chain of round-shaped bulbs of various sizes connected to the next one via small root throughout the entire length of the root. The shape and size of the tuberous root are diverse depending on the environment in which it exists.

  Antimicrobial properties of Butea
Compounds within butea superba have antimicrobial and anti-bacterial activity against several invasive organisms.
Butea Aphrodisiac Properties
Butea superba is used as a sex enhancer in Asia, particularly Thailand to enhance sexual desire. One human trial shows butea superba can improve erectile function in males (see below). Another study showed that when butea was given to male rats, they mounted female rats more often and they also ejaculated more frequently.
Side Effects of Butea Superba
Research in rodents does not indicate butea superba to have any significant side effects, but long term human studies are not yet available.

Butea Superba Herb Research Update
Aphrodisiac activity of Butea Superba. Phytomedicine. In the present study, the aphrodisiac activity of Butea Superba extract was investigated. The extract was administered orally by gavages for 28 days. Mount latency (ML), intromission latency (IL), ejaculation latency (EL), mounting frequency (MF), intromission frequency (IF), ejaculation frequency (EF) and post-ejaculatory interval ( PEI) were the parameters observed before and during the sexual behavior study. The extract reduced significantly ML, IL, EL and PEI. The Butea extract also increased significantly MF, IF and EF. These effects were observed in sexually active and inactive male rats.

The toxicology of Butea superba. A study to determine theprimary toxicological effects of Red Kwao Kreu (Butea superba, dry powder by micronucleus and dominant lethal tests was undertaken. Aqueous solution of butea superba dry powder in doses of 2, 20, 200 and 1,000 mg/kg/day were fed to male rats for 9 weeks. The results showed that 1,000 mg/kg/day of butea superba solution was significantly more effective in inducing the formation of micronuclei in polychromatic erythrocytes than the control, whereas dominant lethal test indicated that none of the doses had a toxic effect on male reproduction. There were no abnormal changes in the number of implantation sites and the number of dead fetuses produced by females that had mated with butea superba treated males in comparison with the controls. In addition, the Red Kwao Kreu solutions had no effect on the body weights of the treated rats.

Clinical trial of Butea superba, an alternative herbal treatment for erectile dysfunction . White Kwao Kruew ( Pueraria mirifica) is a Thai phytoestrogen-rich plant that has been used for a long time as a herbal medicine. The related plant, Red Kwao Kreu ( Butea superba), is abundantly distributed in the deciduous forest and has been popular among Thai males for the purpose of rejuvenation and increasing sexual vigor. The tuberous roots of Butea superba were found to contain flavonoid and flavonoid glycoside with cAMP phosphodiesterase inhibitor activity as well as sterol compounds, including beta-sitosterol, campesterol and stigmasterol. Butea superba contains a high cAMP phosphodiesterase inhibitor activity, which was directly related to corpus cavernosal vasodilation (erections).

AIM: To study the effect of Butea superba on erectile dysfunction (ED) in Thai males. METHODS: A 3-month randomized double-blind clinical trial was carried out in volunteers with ED, aged 30 years approximately 70 years, to evaluate the therapeutic effect of the crude preparation of Butea superba tubers on ED. RESULTS: There was a significant upgrading in 4 of the 5 descriptive evaluations of the IIEF-5 questionnaire. Estimation of the sexual record indicated that 82% of the patients exhibited noticeable improvement. Hematology and blood chemistry analysis revealed no apparent change. CONCLUSION: The plant preparation appears to improve the erectile function in impotent patients without apparent toxicity.

Aging Problems? How Butea Superb a can help solve it .

Chemical properties; the results from the study of researchers and academics confirmed that these chemicals are non-mutagenic and could induce vasodilation especially at the penis with very similar reaction as did by Viagra but smoothly and thus elevate erectile performance. While the commercial Erectile Dysfunction-treated drug is a great interested product despite it’s serious adverse effect which some are related to death, a herbal product such as Butea superba with soft but safe action should be an alternative.

Researchers and academics had found that Butea superba products could be in two forms, an ingestible powder product such as a health food product and a topical application product such as a topical application cosmetic product.

Secondly, there is evidence to support that phytoestrogen consumption contributes to lower risks of cardiovascular disease and that phytoestrogens may even prevent cardiovascular-related diseases. In a study, it was proven that phytoestrogens in soybeans could decrease the level of LDL cholesterol and increase the level of HDL cholesterol in the blood; therefore, reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Moreover, it was reported that subjects who consumed soy at least three times daily had a decrease in the levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglyceride. It is quite likely that phytoestrogens from Pueraria mirifica will work just the same or even better than isoflavones since, in the previously mentioned toxicity study in rats, a very significant reduction of blood cholesterol levels in all groups of Pueraria mirifica-treated rats was also observed.

Preliminary data from a clinical trial conducted in Thailand to study the beneficial effect of Pueraria mirifica supplement have recently been obtained. Eight female subjects who were having menopausal symptoms received Pueraria mirifica in the powder form once daily at the dose of 200 mg for 4 months followed by the dose of 100 mg, for 8 months. Improvement of menopausal symptoms was observed in 5 out of 8 subjects throughout the study period. Physical examinations and biochemical studies revealed that all subjects were healthy. The dietary supplement dose of Pueraria mirifica recommended by the physician for its estrogenic effect in this case is 100 mg per day.

Applications-uses-dosage
Currently, the dried roots are finely ground, sometimes mixed with other medicinal herbs or elixirs (e.g. Goldden Emperor Liquid SunLight), and taken as a dietary supplement.

When Pueraria mirifica is taken as a dietary supplement, its phytoestrogen constituents will naturally alleviate symptoms occurring as a result of the aging process and a deficiency in estrogen levels, e.g., sagging and wrinkled skin, bone loss, gray hair, etc. These aging signs and symptoms will, to a certain extent, be reversed.

When mixed with water or with Golden Emperor Liquid SunLight, then applied topically to the skin, Pueraria mirifica will be beneficial to that respective part of the body. Topical uses of Pueraria mirifica have been known to include:

- Skin creams: to firm Skin,
- Eye gel: to reduce the look of lines and wrinkles around the eyes and postpone their future appearance, and

Various forms and preparations of Pueraria mirifica should provide an effective and inexpensive alternative to men and women who wish to take charge of their own health and to enhance their beauty or utilize Pueraria mirifica for many cosmetic purposes.

With regard to the safety and efficacy of dermal preparations of Pueraria mirifica, standard dermal toxicity tests were performed in various animal species as well as in humans, and no toxicity was observed. Moreover, the efficacy of breast cream was recently evaluated in a large group of human volunteers with significant improvement results.

Directions: You may dissolve a half teaspoon in 8oz of water and drink it this way. Or for topical applications, you may make a thin paste and apply directly to problem skin areas, wrinkled or sagging areas, around eyes, lips, under upper arms. Leave on for at least an hour and wash off…
